Easy Inventions For School Projects. Let s say that you have an ingenious little inventor in your hand, and somehow they come to you asking for assistance on an invention idea for school. It s no secret that you have not been to school for more than two decades, therefore what and how can you help your student succeed in his or her new project? Simple, get them some books on what is available out there. Your child needs to see for themselves the wide world of inventions, and by reading up, they can begin to understand and envision their invention from a broad perspective. With a little effort and guidance, you and your student can put together a very cool, easy, and enjoyable invention idea for the classroom.
Step One: Pick a great idea. As mentioned above, your child needs to see what a great invention would look like in real life, in a lot of different applications, not just for their school project. Look around at other appliances and products, to find inspiration for what might be your child’s next great idea. This can range from the common to the grand. Start with one that may seem simple, but you never know until you try it.
Step Two: Brainstorm some invention ideas. Have your child help you brainstorm. Get together a small committee, each comprised of one to three children, and spend a few hours discussing what your group will be working on, as well as what type of invention ideas you think would be a great fit for your student. You can also use other teaching resources such as websites, books, or videos about invention ideas and patentable products.
Step Three: Brainstorm some more. Have your kid write down all the invention ideas she comes up with. This will take some time, and the more time you spend thinking about what your student has come up with, the better you will know what type of invention ideas to present to your teacher. Keep in mind that not all invention ideas are suitable for the US Patent and Trademark Office. Step Four: Present the idea to your teacher. The invention idea can be presented in several ways. You could give a short talk about your great idea to your class, or you could show the invention to your class and discuss how it would benefit the future world. It is best to go over the invention idea thoroughly, discussing the benefits of the invention, why your child would want to make the invention, as well as how it fits into the world today.
Step Five: Check to see if you can get a patent for your invention ideas. Patent lawyers check to see if you have a legitimate claim to the “invention”. If there is a patent, the patent office will decide within a reasonable amount of time whether or not your claim is valid. It is important to understand that the patent process can be slow, particularly for design patents, so you should make sure to get proper legal advice before proceeding with a patent application.
